There are several new features that have been launched by Xero over the last few months that can make your user experience even better! Below are some tips and tricks we have found useful.
- Bank Reconciliation View
Following the updated interface of Xero, less bank lines are displayed on the Bank Reconciliation screen. If you prefer the old view, there is now an option to display a condensed screen which shows more transactions per page. This can be switched on and off using the ‘Compact View’ toggle on the top right of the reconcile screen.
- Bank Reconciliation Predictions
You may have noticed Xero automatically filling in fields on your bank reconciliation tab. Xero has developed algorithms to predict the contacts and account codes for bank lines shown on the dashboard which speeds up the reconciliation process. If you have recurring transactions, the same can also be achieved by setting up bank rules to pre populate the contact, account code, VAT rate and description, more information on this can be found at: https://central.xero.com/s/article/Create-a-bank-rule
- Calculator!
Finally, an older Xero tip that you may not be aware of is Xero’s built-in calculator. Sums can be typed into the amount fields on bills and invoices and Xero will work the total out for you – no need to search for that lost calculator anymore!
